Colorado’s own national recording artist Tony Exum, Jr. is a contemporary jazz, R&B and funk saxophonist, songwriter and performer with a smooth, sultry and soulful sound. In 2019 Tony released his single “My Name’s Tony” receiving international airplay, charting on the Smooth Jazz Network top 100 chart for 12 weeks. In addition, the My Name’s Tony Spring/Summer 14 city tour, included performances at the San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival in San Diego, California, Spaghettini’s in Long Beach, California, The Soiled Dove Underground in Denver Colorado, Jazz in The Park in Prattville, Alabama and the Winter Park Jazz Festival in Winter Park Colorado to name a few. He remains a staple in the national contemporary jazz circuit with performances across the U.S.
Tony is taking 2022 to new heights musically and professionally with an unrestrained passion and impeccable work ethic that is second to none. Performances in 2021/22 already include the Taste of the South Festival, 30th Annual Berks Jazz Fest and the 2021Jazz Legacy Foundation 8th Annual Gala Weekend, Stockton Jazz Fest, San Diego Smooth Jazz just to name a few. Tony’s catalog consists of two critically acclaimed albums, “Finally” and “The One” and 7 singles including two Smooth Jazz Network top 100 charting singles “Brighter Days (with David P. Stevens)” and “Get At You” feat. Desmond “Motown” Washington which also reached #1 and #4 on the Billboard/BDS Smooth Jazz Airplay Most Added charts respectively.
National recording artist and saxophonist Dee Lucas has been noted as the hardest working artist in contemporary jazz while steadily growing his brand and fan base beginning with Remembrance in 2004. Thereafter, it has been a steady showcase of unique stylings with Something to Ride 2 (2007), Standing Room Only (2010), Rebirth of the Smooth (2012), The Smooth Factor (2014), Going Deeper (2016), The Sweet Spot (2017), Going Left (2018), and the critically-acclaimed The Time Is Now (2020). “The Time Is Now” marked his 9th worldwide release and is arguably considered his best work to date. It was positioned on several music charts including the Billboard Top 20 Smooth Jazz charts with the hit single ‘Full Tilt’. It also was nominated for an Indie Soul Smooth Jazz Album of the Year award. In 2022, Lucas released two singles titled ‘Hot Ice’ featuring keyboardist Gino Rosaria and ‘Sir Dee’ as a prelude to his 10th album “No Boundaries” to be released in March 2023. Both singles hit #1 on several smooth jazz charts and has become an instant fan favorites.
In 2008, Marqueal Jordan met smooth jazz star Brian Culbertson. Impressed by his playing and singing, Brian offered Marqueal a spot in his touring band. Over the next 10 years, Marqueal traveled the world with Brian, appeared in two DVDs, and was featured on four albums. The exposure gave him the confidence and desire to become a solo artist. Marqueal’s solo debut album, Catalyst, was released in October 2013. It helped to establish him as an emerging artist in Smooth & Contemporary Jazz. In 2019, he released his second project, Intention & Purpose. The album yielded two Top 20 hits on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Singles Chart, “If You Only Knew” and “The Edge”. Marqueal’s current album, All We Have Are Moments was released in early 2022. The album contains singles “Last Call” and “Sistas” which are well received by SiriusXM Watercolors and Smooth Jazz Radio. In addition to leading and touring with his own band, Marqueal occasionally tours with legendary band The Isley Brothers.
