Mustangs of the West is an all-female band rooted in California’s post-cowpunk country scene, first gained attention at the legendary Palomino Club with their harmonies and original music blending the styles of Emmylou Harris and Stevie Nicks. After being named Southern California Country Music Vocal Group of the Year, they toured the U.S. and Europe, playing festivals like SXSW and Roskilde. Though the group disbanded in the mid-90s, members pursued successful solo careers before reuniting in 2017 as Mustangs of the West. With a new lineup and a deal with Blue Élan Records, they released acclaimed albums like TIME (2020) and Sea of Heartbreak (2024), showcasing their signature harmonies and instrumental finesse. The band has headlined prestigious venues, appeared at AmericanaFest and SXSW, and continues to celebrate their legacy, contributing to the documentary Palomania and topping Roots Radio charts
