A musical legend is now immortal. Producer, disc, jockey, and lover of rock ‘n’ roll, Art Laboe coined the term that forever defined not only a generation, but how we honor the sounds of the past. “Oldies but goodies“ was the vision Laboe marked and continues to guide us whenever we dig in our musical history of rock ‘n’ roll. Andy Vargas and band brings to life some of those songs from the vaults of Art Laboe’s legacy. “Oldies Throwback” is a special live concert. A collection of song gems that have stood the test of time for all to enjoy.

Andy Vargas, lead singer for the Carlos Santana Band, has only just begun to show the world his talent for composing and singing sweet melodies, soulful lyrics, and captivating grooves with cross-cultural appeal. Currently singing with the Carlos Santana Band, Andy’s style results primarily from the influence of his father, Javier Vargas, as well as Carlos Santana. Exposed to music at the early age of three, Andy began performing with his father’s mariachi band in Watsonville, California by the time that he was only seven years old. Encouraged by his father’s excitement to teach him, Andy quickly saw the powers of deeper communication and expression that music holds. Andy now tailors his music to his own creative convictions, writing and recording original compositions in his private studio. Collaborating with friends and colleagues, Andy’s music follows in the Santana tradition of combining musical ideas from multiple cultures and genres. In addition to his own music, Andy is now working with the electrifying Maria Conchita Alonzo for her upcoming album.
