A shift in the genre labeled “smooth jazz” is happening now and saxophonist Phil Denny is notching out a space in the format with some serious grooves. Although no stranger to the stage, emerging recording artist Phil Denny has been creating quite the buzz with his 2012 debut release, Crossover; an album which has been widely received in the format. Push, the first single to radio debuted at #29 on the Billboard national smooth jazz airplay chart and peaked at #21 as well as spent more than twenty weeks on the SmoothJazz.com chart proving Denny’s music is getting noticed. To date, performance highlights include an appearance at the 2012 Dubai International Jazz Festival, performing alongside guitarist Peter White, opening for RnR and selling out two 2012 hometown concerts entertaining more than 1000 guests. Traffic Jam, the second single release from Crossover is currently being heard over the FM, satellite and internet radio waves and is well into his 2013 tour.
