September In The Spotlight!
Labor Day Party with Fattburger
  Sunday September 5th $45 7pm

In an industry notorious for ego clashes, break ups over trivial artistic differences, and ever-evolving shifts in the public's often fickle tastes, smooth jazz supergroup Fattburger--whose irresistible melodic blend of funk, blues, pop and Latin influences is often called "The Sound of San Diego"--has bucked the odds and stayed together for nearly fifteen years. Reflecting on the band's longevity and ten best-selling recordings which have so perfectly epitomized the genre's many charms, keyboardist Carl Evans, Jr. says, "The key is that we've always created music that's satisfying and gratifying to us artistically, but also speaks clearly to the public. Listeners and fans recognize that we are a true band with team spirit and synergy, and they're always eager to hear what we have to say."

BRENDA RUSSELL, MICHAEL PAULO & Paul Peress

Sunday September 19th $40 VIP.
Brenda's Bio. With a unique musical perspective, intimate voice and prolific treasure-trove of lyrics, singer-songwriter Brenda Russell proves that a truly glowing talent only deepens with time. Composer of the classics "Get Here," "If Only For One Night," and the Grammy-nominated "Piano In The Dark," Brenda's songwriting prowess and chameleon-like ability to shift between musical genres and combine styles trumpeted ovations in 2005 with the opening of the Tony Award-winning hit Broadway musical The Color Purple--a show for which she, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray co-wrote the music and lyrics. Brenda and her co-authors were also nominated for a 2007 Grammy in the Best Musical Show Album category for the original cast album.

Michael's Bio One of the most versatile and cosmopolitan saxophonists in pop, soul and contemporary jazz for nearly 20 years, Michael Paulo has added his distinct saxpertise to a virtual who's who of artists, including Al Jarreau (Paulo's longest term touring association), James Ingram, No. 1 Smooth Jazz Trumpeter and guitarist Rick Braun and Peter White, Oleta Adams, Kenny Loggins, Patti Austin, Jeffrey Osborne, Jeff Lorber, David Benoit, Carl Anderson, Bobby Caldwell, Johnny Mathis and more.
